Rumi Scientific

Rumi Scientific's mission is to fast-track the early stage of drug discovery using our predictive models of the human brain for therapeutic success. Many neurodevelopmental diseases do not have treatments due to a lack of a-priori knowledge of the underlying biology. Rumi Scientific's technology is able to model these diseases to help enable the discovery of new targets and drugs, de-risking the current failure-prone cumbersome approach.

Chelsea Rittenhouse, Ph.D., Neuroscientist

Chelsea is a Neuroscientist at Rumi Scientific, where she leads studies on neurological disorders, with a focus on autism. Formerly a professional ballet dancer, she earned her BS in Neuroscience & Behavior from Columbia University and her PhD from Weill Cornell. Her research background spans stem cell culture, 3D organoid platforms, and microglial development, with training in the labs of Kristen Brennand, Tom Maniatis, and Lorenz Studer.

At Rumi, Chelsea drives drug screening, assay development, and organoid engineering using high-throughput patterned platforms.
In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, yoga, cooking, hiking, and spending time with her husband and family.

I would like to learn about Rumi Scientific’s novel discoveries to treat genetic diseases.
