Fred Etoc, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer
Initially trained as a biophysicist during his PhD in Paris, Fred has spent the last decade advancing stem cell research. He contributed to pioneering efforts to reconstitute human tissues in vitro, enabling unprecedented insights into the mechanisms at play during early embryogenesis—critical stages of human development previously inaccessible for study. Leveraging his biophysics expertise, he established a team to refine this technology, making it scalable and integrating AI-driven analytics for drug discovery. This approach is now deployed at RUMI Scientific, where he leads, as chief scientific officer, our efforts to discover drugs and targets that can reverse disease phenotype linked to disorders in the area of neurology and nephrology as a starting point, towards the development of targeted therapies that could significantly impact patient care in difficult therapeutic areas where treatment options are currently scarce.
In his free time, he loves spending time with his family and enjoys playing double bass, jamming with friends and accompanying for various bands focused on swing-era music.
