Rumi Scientific

Rumi Scientific's mission is to fast-track the early stage of drug discovery using our predictive models of the human brain for therapeutic success. Many neurodevelopmental diseases do not have treatments due to a lack of a-priori knowledge of the underlying biology. Rumi Scientific's technology is able to model these diseases to help enable the discovery of new targets and drugs, de-risking the current failure-prone cumbersome approach.

Dr Paola Alotta, Ph.D., SAB Member

Dr. Paola Arlotta, Ph.D., is a professor of stem cell and regenerative biology at Harvard University, and chair of the Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology Department at Harvard. She is a principal faculty member at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute, where she is co-leader of the neuroscience program, an institute member at the Broad Institute, and an associate member of the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at the Broad Institute. Dr. Arlotta is interested in the investigation of therapies for brain repair and for modeling neuropsychiatric disease. Dr. Arlotta holds an M.S. in biochemistry, a Ph.D. in molecular biology, and completed her postdoctoral training in neuroscience at Harvard Medical School. Her research and teaching have received numerous awards, including the George Ledlie Prize for her work studying the embryonic brain in health and disease, the Fannie Cox Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching, and the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
