Rumi Scientific

Rumi Scientific's mission is to fast-track the early stage of drug discovery using our predictive models of the human brain for therapeutic success. Many neurodevelopmental diseases do not have treatments due to a lack of a-priori knowledge of the underlying biology. Rumi Scientific's technology is able to model these diseases to help enable the discovery of new targets and drugs, de-risking the current failure-prone cumbersome approach.

Shaun Peterson

Shaun Peterson, Ph.D., Lead Data Analyst and Bioinformatician

Shaun is Lead Data Analyst and Bioinformatician at Rumi Scientific. He earned his BS in Biology from Boston College and conducted graduate research on DNA repair at Columbia University. His postdoctoral work at Memorial Sloan Kettering focused on homology-directed repair during mouse meiosis, contributing to a revised model of mammalian recombination.

At Rumi, Shaun has built computational tools that power analyses across transcriptomics, proteomics, and high-throughput screening. His work includes deep-learning models, phenotype classification, and genome assembly pipelines.
Outside the lab, Shaun enjoys sci-fi shows, video games, brunches with friends, live music, and drag performances.

I would like to learn about Rumi Scientific’s novel discoveries to treat genetic diseases.
